Crab Season...

Anybody who knows me, knows that I am not a big fan of seafood. It's just not my thing. I try my best because seafood is Duc's absolute favorite. He is always impressed when I make anything with any kind of seafood in it for dinner. Fortunately two out of three of my babies love seafood like their Daddy. One of my favorite things is when he makes a big plate of crab for them all.
He is so sweet, he sits and cracks all the crab and dips it in butter for them. He usually doesn't get to eat more than a few bites because Ava and Ollie snarf it down as fast as he puts it out for them. He always sits at their little table too. He is such a good Daddy!  I totally spaced blogging, but his birthday was on the 3rd. And when I looked at these pictures I knew I had to blog about my man, birthday or not.  He is so good to us and works so hard for our family.  He always puts me and the kids first and is always saying I love you.  His baby girl has him wrapped around her little finger and it is the cutest thing in the world to see a rough and tough "I don't cry!" kinda guy melt in the hands of such a tiny little girl. She truly melts his heart with one flash of her big brown eyes.
This is my Man and I am proud of it!
We love our Daddy!!!  Happy belated birthday!!!

And on a completely separate note. Fall is on time. I can't tell you how much this annoys me. We totally got gypped out of a spring and now fall taunts me with it's brown leaves and cool weather.  I guess I'm not being very clear here.  I really do love the cooler weather, the way the mountain changes from lucious green to vibrant reds, browns, oranges and yellows, sipping hot cocoa (or cider! Yum!) as the warm sun kisses my cheeks and the cool crisp air blows through my hair.  Still warm enough to let the kids play outside but not so cold we need coats and boots. Yeah, fall is alright in my book. BUT, all these glorious fall signs mean one thing, winter is just around the corner. BOO. I'm pretty sure winter overstayed it's welcome in my neighborhood this year and already I am having to think about buttoning up for winter and digging out the coats, hats, boots, gloves and snow pants. Sigh. I guess I just need to enjoy fall as much as I can. And one way I do that is baking. I love to bake. Especially in the fall when the oven doesn't heat up the house.  Oh yeah. Some pumpkin chocolate chip cookies (loaded with chocolate chips), pumpkin pancakes with cinnamon syrup, oh yeah. Oh Yeah.
'Nuff said! Welcome Fall. And Winter, you have been warned. Fall is welcome you are not.
