Girls Camp 2014

Girls Camp.  Oh what fun.  I was so blessed to attend girls camp this year with some of the most amazing young ladies I've ever known.  There was (honestly!) not on.bit. of drama.  Not even a little.  These girls blow me away with their sweet tender hearts and their forgiving, and giving natures.  What a fun weekend it was.  I will cherish it forever my dear darlings.  There were only 968 pictures I took up there... sooooo, this isn't really that many.... hehehe.

We started out with a fun song to the tune of "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" about us camping in the woods seeing as how our theme was There's No Place Like Home Camp.  It was silly and super fun...  the YCL's were kind enough to welcome us to camp singing our fun song donning their scarecrow hats made by the one and only Miss Millie.

Each day we had a different theme. Day One was Scarecrow and "Knowledge"
 All of us <3
We watched the clouds roll over the mountains and waited to get poured on.  We only got sprinkled on.  In hind sight, it sure was nice to have a nice cool girls camp.
The girls were happy to help Miss Ruthie in the "kitchen", washing dishes, prepping meals and cleaning up.

 teehee...
and these two lovelies... oh I love these faces.  Becky is our fearless leader and Erin is the 2nd counselor.  I have loved every second of getting to know these two!
Silly girls... they really liked the duct tape crafts...
Secret sister mailboxes.... even though out in the open, they sure were sneaky!
And the Hurckimers (darned if I know how to spell that!) those darn hurckimers. If you were found with a hurckimer somewhere on your person when it was called, you got to do a "fun" game after dinner.  Day one, of course I got one.  I had to fish smarties out of a plate of flour.  Along with Becky and our Priesthood Brother Jessup.
Becky was baffled at how I was able to keep my face so clean through our little challenge.  It's all in the tongue my friend.
First thing the next day we packed a lunch and headed down the hiking trail...
Our fearless and amazing YCL's: Hailee, Brooklyn (Boo) and Syndey.  Love these girls guts!!
Day two: The Lion and "Courage.

My sweet Ava girl packed me a backpack with snacks so I wouldn't get hungry.  I love that sweet little girl.  Anywho, Hailee ended up using it to take her lunch up our hike :0) I thought Ava would enjoy seeing that...
 Erin, Ruthie and Becky

Millie our Camp Director and Ruthie officially, our asst. camp director but un-official camp cook.  And a mighty fine cook she is!  Those girls ate well!

at the top of our hike we stopped to eat lunch and look at the cool run down mill...
 Jessica, Me and Alina
and who says boys are the only ones who like to throw rocks in water?
I love that I can just let loose and be "one of the girls" up at girls camp... they bring out the fun and crazy in me!
part one of our Priesthood for day 2, Brother Gwynn and his daughter Sara.
seriously though, they couldn't be any more adorable!  Sariayah and Boo.
awwwww, part two of our day 2 Priesthood, Becky's husband Aaron.  Otherwise know as
"A" "A" Ron. so as not to be confused with Erin our counselo... teehee, did I mention we get silly at camp?
 Aren't they lovely!

Sweet Ruthie with her equally sweet daughter, Sammy...

And these two, two peas in a pod.  Haley and Jordyn.
 They try to hide...
But I become relentless when they hide...

a bit of sunny sun shine...
still waiting to get poured on... still lucky on day two...
The girls favorite hangout in the campground...
crafting never got dull.  The YCL's were always there to sing and do funny skits for us...

 Oh, Boo!  I love you!!
I don't know what happened... but it was funny...
 we mustache you a question...
 Princess Hailee
 Photobooth... ahhh!  So FUN!
 Ruthie's Mess Hall...
 Did I mention Silly?

Cute Bobbi wasn't able to join us up at camp but, she made sure we had awesome handouts and sweet signage!
 dreamcatching...
Hurchimers day two: Make lemonade in your mouth.
Step 1: Take a bite of lemon.
Step 2: Take a spoonful of sugar.
Step 3: Take a big swig of water and swish everything around in your mouth.
Step 4: Run like the dickens over to your awaiting cup on the other side of the mess hall...
Step 5: Bask in the warmth of the winners circle...

there's that sneaky hurckimer (one of three)

day three craft provided by Erin, these awesome necklaces!
These girls and their cards!  wowza!  they know their way around a deck that's for sure!

 Day 3: Tinman and "Heart"
The. Cutest. Tinmen I've ever seen! (or would that be tin-women? hmmmm)

the YCL's strike again... cute little "yellow brick roads" leading us to our tent each night...
 Hurckimer!

the girls pretending they don't want their picture taken...

we were close enough to home that we got some future Young Women to give us a visit.  So cute!
Hurckimer #3 and building a fire with Bro. Gwynn
there was no way those girls were letting a member of the bishopric leave without getting a Hurckimer...

these two silly girls... Krista (bishops wife) and Millie

Why bishop, what a lovely shower cap your wearing this evening! (getting ready for his Hurckimer)
And Brother Mardis couldn't leave his lovely oldest daughter out of this awesome picture!
"So.  You're gonna put the cone in your mouth and lay on the ground..." says Mille.  "Then.  Your partner is going to drop ice cream standing over your head." She chuckled. "And see if you can catch it in the cone.  First one with a full cone wins."
Oh me, oh my...

"I can't guarantee my aim honey..."
 Ready. Set. GO!

 Just for good measure...
These kids.  Such good sports.  Sarenah was content to eat her winnings...
Now let's have some pizza shall we?
 tame those coals Ruthie!
 Our last devotional...
Litttle miss mousy wasn't quite lound enough ;D

 (inseparable these two!)
Corianne on the catwalk... work it girl...
 Shhhhhh, planning skits and tricks!
A lovely fellow camper from across the way played in on our prank.  Brother Mardis' keys were "found" in the toilets... teeheehee.  Did I mention what good sports our bishopric are?

And one final campfire.  Testimony meeting is my favorite.  These girls amaze me with their strength and wisdom.
How blessed I was to be able to attend one last girls camp.  Seeing as how (shhhhh) we have decided to add another family member to our family, I probably won't be able to attend next year.  Looking forward to every second I have left with these amazing young ladies.  I will be forever grateful for the love they have shown me.  Their testimonies have strengthened mine and they truly have changed my life.  I will cherish my YW days forever.
