So there's this boy. He kinda stole my heart. He calls me Mom.
My sweet boy has always been a Mama's boy. I hope it stays that way forever. I love his fun and silly disposition. He's always the one making us laugh. He is inventive and kind and helpful. He is a good student and has grown leaps and bounds in his first year of school. How proud we are of you birthday boy.
Say cheese, Ollie.
My silly boy. Six already! I can't even imagine how quickly these next six years will go!
(I had to sneak this sweet pic in somewhere! Read away my son. Let the pages fill your imagination with wonder, hope, and scenes of pirates, dinosaurs, and cowboys...)
As per tradition in our house, the birthday kid gets to pick what we eat for breakfast and dinner. Sometimes lunch if applicable :0) Ollie chose bacon and eggs for breakfast... a boy after my own heart.
He was so excited to go to school and get to wear a birthday sticker on his shirt and have his class sing to him. I even snuck in a naughty trip to McDonald's just to get him the lego movie cup he'd been dying for from the happy meal. (which they were out of and it broke your heart... Mr.Peapody just isn't the same.) Grandpa Phil and Grandma Jill came for dinner and a little spoiling. The strawberry lemon poppyseed pancakes were so yummy! Everyone was happy with that choice, especially because it was, once again, requested to have a side of bacon. After stuffing ourselves to the gills we settled in for some present opening...
Happy spoiled boy. You got your coveted flashlight friend and some really cool hot wheels from grandma.
Ava took advantage of Grandpa and pulled out her Lincoln Logs for him to build...
Ollie wasted no time putting grandma to work building his hot wheel track...
The next day the festivities continued with a Ninja Turtle party at Grandma's house. A few friends and cousins made up the guest list and a grand time was had by all!
Finally the cupcakes! You waited days for these my boy...
Ahhhh, and this is why she's by bestie. She does silly things like pose as a ninja turtle with me :0)
I'd say the masks were a hit...
Happy happy birthday my sweet Ollie boy. You make sure we never have a dull moment. Our lives would not be the same without you. Love you Ollie! Always have and always will.
On a side note, mr.man finished the office in the basement this week! (although this picture was mid-floor installation, the desks are now in and it is a full functioning office!! wahoo!) It was a good good feeling! We have an office that we can work in finally! And, par the course, he did not disappoint! The woodwork and craftsmanship is incredible. I picked the paint and painted it... then painted our room with the same paint because I loved it so much. But that's pretty much the extent of my efforts in the office. But someone had to keep the kids fed, clean and in bed on time right?! At any rate, I'm one lucky lady there's no doubt about that.
