Sigh, where to start? Behind again. Oh, well. Most of these are from my iPhone. Part of me is happy I didn't encumber our (first ever family "vacation") little staycation with my black beauty (aka my camera) but part of me is sad I don't have those memories in HD. In the end I captured them, so I guess it's all good.
We were so happy to have daddy home for a few days all to ourselves. No calls into work, it was lovely. We played until we were sore and exhausted!! And loved every minute of it! I'm going to do the usual with the iPhone uploads and just caption each pic or whatever is necessary to document for my future generations :0)
Mama's little helper. She loves to be in the kitchen with Mom. And Mom loves her there too!
It's official. I have the ability to be armed. Although I'm not very dangerous, teehee.
My boys. So handsome.
Ong Noi had a birthday! Any excuse to have a family gathering and some cake, we'll take it!
Sometimes in the morning (before school started that is) little miss climbs into bed with me and tells me stories and give me snuggles... ahhhhhhh, I hope she does this forever.
burning off a little steam at the bouncy house...
Sometimes, this is how we roll... Crazy "day before" hair, pjs' cowgirl boots. Yup. Target, here we come.
Ava was so excited to wear her new swimsuit to go to Cowabunga Bay on our first day of staycation... my little beauty. (Why don't I have a pic of all of them? Boo!)
Our 24th of July (for you non-utah folks, that's the day the Mormon Pioneers arrived in the Salt Lake Valley and began to settle Salt Lake City) we started the day at Cabela's. Nothing like a little Utah education from the creepy robot hunter man to celebrate the holiday.
Then we spent the rest of the day doing my favorite pass time. Shopping. Teehee. The boys scored some hat's. All be it, very large, hats. They love em. Ninjago and Mario are the current obsessions in our house right now.
Oh, my. My little gangster wanna be boy!
All in all it was a super fun day! Shopping, Ice cream, Cabela's and waiting for Daddy's truck to be done at the shop. Day 2, Done.
In our down time, Ava does what she loves best.
I thought this was so sweet. Ava had to put her shoes lined up next to daddy's...
The longest, most exhausting and funnest day of all? LAGOON! The kiddos first trip to Lagoon as a matter of fact! I'm pretty sure I was more excited for them to go on the bumper cars than they actually were...
Such a sweet brother, gong on the "baby" rides with his little sister. He is such a good big brother.
I decided to brave a ride with the kiddos. Good thing this $6 tin of mints saved me from an angry tummy all day! Wonder of wonders!
The stinkiest, most disappointing? The train :0( maybe we were just too hot? Maybe nauseous from all the heavy, terribly bad for you, but terribly tasty food? Who knows. THIS, was NOT the highlight of our trip LOL! 9 hours at Lagoon with three littles in tow? The most exhausting fun I've had in a long time. It was worth every second, just to see the excitement on my kiddos faces the whole day.
Day four: Dinosaur Park in Ogden. Another first.
My favorite part of this picture? the little photo bomber? No. The little girl on the rock? Close. It's the little knee high socks she insisted on wearing. My little fashionista, teehee.
oh, that face! I just can't get enough!
After the dinosaur park, we headed over to the Aerospace museum at Hill Air Force Base. I loved watching the boys bond with their daddy the whole trip. Be still my beating heart...
I wanted to sit and read all the history facts in the museum, mr.man was all about checking out the engines and telling me all about them...
Teeheehee... the phabulous PHANtoms phorever... teeheehee...
Right before she zonked out...
My little Ava is so good about helping me set the table... the end of day 4 was spent around the dinner table. The table set by my little Av.
Day 5 we decided to bounce back to lagoon with Aunt Kathy and Ong Noi. The boys were all wound up and ready to go. When they had to wait for Auntie and Ong Noi to finish breakfast, they got crazy with the hair pieces... silly boys!
ACK! L.O.V.E. my life is right here. These little people have no clue how much they are loved!
It's a bit blurry, but auntie is there in the coral colored shirt with Ava and the boys are in front of them. I love that Ollie is putting up his one hand but not the other! Puff is much funner (for me) to watch than to ride.
After our full day at Lagoon, we headed home for our neighborhood 24th of July party (that was actually on the 27th) The best part of this? My Dad's band coming to play :0) it's so fun having a Dad be so talented and being able to share that talent with my neighborhood friends. The kids also think it's pretty awesome to see Grandpa play and sing. His brother, my uncle, Ted and his wife Denise are also in the band. Its a family affair.
Ted and Denise
Denise, Doc (good friend) and Dad aka Grandpa
I felt like it really brought the neighborhood together, fusing young and old, new and veteran. Bringing out the neighbors that may not have come otherwise. A little ruckus is always good at attracting attention. Did I mention I love my Daddy? Hmmm, anywho I sure do.
The last two days of our staycation were spent cleaning out the basement. What's got to be done, has got to be done. But, we did take a few breaks here and there. Winder Farms ice cream. Oh my. Can't be beat! And that's coming from a self proclaimed Ice Cream connoisseur.

Once we had to say goodbye to Daddy and send him back to work. It was "back to work" as usual for Mommy and the kiddos. We started with Ollie's kindergarten Check-Up. He has excellent vision (crossing our fingers non of them get daddy's eyes!) and is healthy as a horse! Can't believe he's heading to kindergarten! My little mama's boy is leaving his mama! **sniff**sniff**
He's not too sad about kindergarten. He's downright giddy as a matter of fact!
kicking it in the peter pan room while we wait for Dr. Blackburn. We love Southridge Pediatrics.
We managed to squeeze in a couple playdates before school started. This was usually the end result...
Daddy, also managed some "playtime" before the summer's end...
6 months worth of pictures. And that's not including iPhone pics... oh me, oh my!
Nothing evokes that patriotism in me more than Old Glory flying high against a deep blue sky.
My favorite new little person! My new niece, daughter of Hailey and Jared, Miss Averie made her debut! We are all absolutely smitten with her!
and to think... not too long ago, that baby was mine. She's getting so big! She insist's she be put to bed in her "nest" of animals each night. I don't know how she gets any sleep, but it works for her.
sometimes a lazy sunday afternoon is the perfect remedy for a long week...
and sometimes I get silly and take selfies... oh dear. I do like to bake away a sunday afternoon...
She said to me "I'm awesome Mom." Yes. Yes you are my darling.
My Ollie! Oh, how I love my mama's boy's snuggles and random "I love you's" throughout the day. I will miss them when you are at school my little helper!
Ewwwww, gross!! Poor Kahner lost his fingernail after a bowling incident with Uncle Hieu.
The Pony Adventures... if these ponies could talk...
Where you can find Ava most mornings...
Teehee, it's auntie Kathy!!!!!! Isn't she so stinking cute!?
We kind of like our my little ponies right now...
Some more of my favorite people. "MY" girls. Oh, how I love these girls and how I love this place. Baptisms with my girls. Such a beautiful experience.
Loosing teeth like crazy now!
And the best part of our summer (right next to our staycation) was the surprise visit from our Arkansas cousins! Oh, how much fun we had! We miss them so much! We can't wait to see them again!
Playing hard with cousins sure is hard work.
We took them up to Bridal Veil Falls to show them some mountainous beauty. My zen place. Insert Childhood memories here ______________.
Sometimes those Chinese fortune cookies can be scary accurate... or not...
And sometimes, the cousins are the ones worn out :0) it won't stop the kiddos from playing with them.
seeing this, I'm sure you can understand why both sides were exhausted...
We took them down to city creek to show them the #3 retail establishment in the WORLD. Yup. It's amazing. It's a good thing it's not closer to my house or I'd be in trouble.
Sweet James. Oh so patient with those munchkins. They sure love and miss this guy.
We even got Daddy to say it was ok to get Ava's ears pierced! Eeeek! A big moment for us both. Ava loved the attention she got from all the cousins and Auntie Mai afterwards. She was kinda ticked at me for a while afterwards. I didn't really warn her about the "poke" well enough. She and I were both happy to have some backup help. Isn't she lovely?!
After a very short visit, we said goodbye to the Jessica, Sam, James and Auntie Mai and hello to one last week of summer. We tried to cram as much fun in as we could. First we went with our friends the Kellywood's to the Utah Museum of Natural History, AKA the Dinosaur Museum... NEVER. AGAIN. will we go on a $2 Tuesday. I'll pay full price to avoid the ant hill next time. Good thing we were with good friends!
On the way out of the museum, we got a look at the eerie smoke covered sun. The smoke rising from the other side of the mountain tinged our skys for days.
oh my... the gardettos are gone. Sometimes life is rough when you're 5.
Rummaging through old pictures I came across this gem... baby Ollie!! isn't he perfect!!
The last playdate of the summer was with our besties. Racheal and her little brood. The boys were in heaven climbing through trees in the backyard of Racheal's mother in law. They set "booby-traps" and put up signs to warn anyone brave enough to enter said woods. The life and mind of a young boy, what a wonderful and imaginative place to be...
Speaking of little boys, my little Ollie. One step closer to kindergarten. one step away from his mama. I'm going to miss this fierce little man. (Kindergarten Back to School Night)
giddy-up, I'll stay home with ya, ma! But first we need to take Auntie Kathy home...
Poor Auntie... all four wisdom teeth out at once...
Whilst in remission, Daddy & the boys got to work on Aunties car.
I worry. This boy sure likes his sleep. School is going to be a big adjustment for this one.
Oh, my Kahner. My sweet boy. I adore finding your notes scattered around the house...
Spending the weekend with these yahoo's sure can be entertaining. Seriously? Matching shirt's guys?
Oh, boy. None the less, I love these faces something fierce. Mom and Lindz were so much help with my project and Dad, well, he's just Dad. Bringing a smile to the faces of those everywhere he goes.
A little Sunday evening game of Battleship with the two most competitive guys in the house... that was a riot.
My Mama's boy and I played something a little less dramatic. A little game of skylanders "trouble".
Speaking of mama's boys... Jessica (said Arkansas cousin) sent me these little Gem's of Duc when he was (obviously) younger. Oh, I could look at this cute face all day!! This first one is with his Uncle Voung, who, has some pretty awesome gloves if I do say so myself.
Coke Advertisement? VW Advertisement? Nope. Just an adorable kid holding a coke. Ah, LOVE IT!
Who cares what your tree looks like? Just throw a cute kid in front and everyone does! little stud muffin!
On with the theme of littles here, Grandpa came by to give the boys a blessing for back to school. A tradition that I always had growing up and one I am proud to be passing along to my own kiddos. An honor and a privilege. I love my Daddy. And boy, so do Sophie and Ava. These two cute cousins have so much fun!
One for the scrapbooks ladies and gentlemen. A cherished photo forever.
Ava got up and dressed one morning, "Mom, I'm wearing green. Where's your green shirt Mom?" inside I'm giddy, and loving that she want's to match me. I'll take it as long as I can get it.
again... rollin' at Target. My cart full of monkey's.
Poor girl. Fell down the sidewalk :0( not a happy evening for us.
Though she be but small... that will never hold her back from getting what she wants...
She loves shopping Ulta with her mama. Testing out lipgloss on our hands...
Sometimes we go through brother's backpacks and get silly... (teehee, naughty girl)
Again my girl helping me in the kitchen. How I cherish these moments...
And that is the end of our VERY LONG update. Still more to come with first day of school pics!! Ahhh!! Almost caught up! Happy are we. God be with you until we meet again.
